Description

Beef Sirloin steak comes from the sirloin section of the animal between the fore-rib and the rump. It is well flavoured and needs to be cooked carefully (ideally pan fried) and rested. Sirloin is derived from when King James I of England while being entertained at Hoghton Tower in 1617.  He was so impressed by the quality of his steak that he knighted the loin of beef, which was referred to thereafter as “Sir loin”.
